Submit feedback to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Coast Survey is working to increase nautical chart details for all areas, and Dare County needs the help of local boaters to prioritize Oregon Inlet and Hatteras Inlet during this effort.

Please take a moment to submit a comment using NOAA’s Assist feedback website. Be sure to include your email address, user type (i.e., commercial fishermen, professional mariner, recreational boater, etc.), as well as a brief summary of why having detailed nautical chart scale data is important for those navigating Oregon Inlet and Hatteras Inlet.

For your convenience, please feel free to use the sample text below when submitting your response:

“We strongly encourage the Office of Coast Survey complete rescheming of Electronic Navigational Charts for Hatteras Inlet and Oregon Inlet. This will improve the display of chart details provided by the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a regular basis and enhance the safety of all vessel traffic in the area.”
