The Roanoke Island/Mainland Division office of the Dare County Parks & Recreation Department is located in the Lions Club Center at Westcott Park in Manteo. Here you can sign up for a variety of youth programs serving the citizens of Manteo, Wanchese and Manns Harbor, as well as the Town of Nags Head and the Dare County mainland.

Pickleball Schedule:

Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Indoor courts at the Lions Club Center in Manteo
Outdoor courts at Pigum Walker Park in Wanchese

Coaches Needed!

The Roanoke Island/Mainland Division is seeking individuals interested in volunteering to coach various youth sports teams. All volunteers are required to pass a background check and go through Dare County Parks and Recreation training.

Roanoke Island Dog Park

The Roanoke Island Dog Park is open to all Dare County residents, property owners and visitors.

In order to receive the keycode for entrance and exit through the gate at the Roanoke Island Dog Park, dog owners are required to complete the Roanoke Island Dog Park Application and then bring the completed application and an up-to-date rabies certificate (for each dog) to the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department's Roanoke Island/Mainland Division office, which is located at 1000 Westcott Park Road in Manteo.

Please review the entire application, responsibility and liability release statement, dog park rules and guidelines before completing and signing the application. Occasionally, the keycode will be changed, and owners will be required to submit an updated rabies vaccination certificate in order to be granted access.
