There are several boat ramps and docks located throughout Dare County, including some that are managed by the county, as well as many others that are privately owned or managed by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Dare County's accesses include the following:

Kitty Hawk:

Address: 4190 Bob Perry Road, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949

Directions: Turn off of U.S. 158 (the bypass) and onto West Kitty Hawk Road, and drive approximately 2 miles. Then turn left onto Bob Perry Road. The boat ramp is 1/2 mile away on the right. No overnight dockage is permitted. 

Features: Visitors will find a picnic area as well as a canal that leads out to the open sound water. Parking is also available for up to 30 vehicles.


Manns Harbor:

BeBop’s Multi-Purpose Pier

Address: 9220 U.S. Highway 64, Manns Harbor, NC 27953

Features: This is a great spot for fishing, crabbing and wildlife viewing, as well as a great photography location. It is also wheelchair accessible.


Rodanthe:

Address: 23170 Myrna Peters Road, Rodanthe, NC 27968                                          

Features: Completed in October 2021, the Rodanthe boat ramp features a two-lane boat dock with a 60-foot-long center floating dock and courtesy platform. The ramp extends 17 feet into the water of the T-shaped harbor that then connects with a federal navigation channel called Blackmar Gut before leading into the Pamlico Sound. The ramp site also features 14-16 parking spaces for vehicles with trailers. No overnight dockage is permitted.   


Wanchese:

Address: 4695 Mill Landing Road. Limited parking is available.

Features: This ramp is designed for unloading and on-loading trailered boats. Limited parking access available. No overnight dockage is permitted.
