The Dare County Water Department’s wastewater treatment personnel are in charge of operating a low-pressure pipe system at the Dare County Detention Center, overseeing the groundwater and gas monitoring programs at the Stumpy Point C&D and East Lake Landfill, monitoring a low-pressure pipe system at the Dare County Water Department’s satellite office in Kill Devil Hills, monitoring the wastewater lift station at College of The Albemarle’s campus on Roanoke Island, operating the Stumpy Point wastewater treatment plant and monitoring samples taken during any dewatering of a pit area performed by the county.
