As residents and visitors head to the 110 miles of shoreline along the Outer Banks, Dare County Emergency Management officials remind beachgoers to be aware of potential hazards and safety concerns they may encounter as they hit the beach.

In an effort to provide beachgoers with information on how to enjoy Dare County's beautiful barrier island beaches safely, Dare County Emergency Management maintains the Love the Beach, Respect the Ocean website. Please visit the site for local tips on how to make each visit to the beach safe and memorable for all the right reasons.
