Dare County Cooperative Extension offers educational programs and information on landscaping, soils, storm water management, erosion control, water quality, and pesticide education for a healthy, sustainable, productive and beautiful environment. Visit the North Carolina Cooperative Extension website for more lawn and garden information.

The Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteer program helps individuals learn more about plants, soil nutrients, cultural practices and pest management. Completion of the program qualifies Master Gardener volunteers to serve the community by sharing their knowledge of lawns, gardens, shrubs and trees with fellow gardeners, school students and community groups. Call or visit the North Carolina Cooperative Extension website to learn more about the Master Gardener volunteer program.

Dare County Cooperative Extension also provides information and soil sample collection materials for homeowners, commercial agriculture and landscaping. In addition, a Cooperative Extension horticultural agent can assist in identifying what may be wrong with your plant and offer constructive solutions.

Commercial pesticide applicator licensing information and training opportunities are provided by Dare County Cooperative Extension. Licensing regulations can be obtained from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Pesticide Section.

More information about the Dare County Center of the Cooperative Extension is available on the North Carolina Cooperative Extension website.
